Ever feel like your life just isn’t what you think it should be? Or you don’t feel good about yourself or where you are – there’s got to be more. Something is out there for you, but you never seem close enough to grab it.
It’s hard being a teenager now with the pressures of school and all its drama. Then there’s social media, peer pressure, demanding parents and teachers, maybe even a job to go along with all that. Stress, stress, stress.
The number one thing to feel good about yourself and your life is to love yourself. Love who you are – love that you are unique and were made by God to specifically be you. You are the only You there ever has been, and the only You there ever will be. And you’re loved more than you can understand!
You may have friends you hang out with that don’t treat you like the wonderful person you are. What do you do? You find people that you feel good around, who treat you like you want to be treated, important, and respected. They’re out there, but you may have to look in other places than where you’ve looked in the past. There are loving people out there that would be delighted to meet you and call you their friend. And you deserve good friends around you because you are one of God’s most beautiful creations.
Do some soul searching to figure out what you want out of life – what are your dreams, your hopes, your desires? Write those thoughts and ideas down. Then determine when you want these things. Are these close dreams, to obtain now, or are they future dreams and goals, like after you graduate from school, or on down the road?
Write that down too. In fact, write down a date that you want to obtain these dreams, these goals. Then write about them, what you think it will be like when you obtain them, how you will go about getting them, what kinds of thoughts you will have when you reach them.
Now picture these dreams and goals. Put actual pictures or words close by that will remind you how great it’s going to be when you reach them. You can even draw them or cut pictures out of magazines, print your own pictures, put down a description, whatever helps you visualize it.
You have parents or other guardians that care for you, provide for you, but you are ultimately responsible for yourself and your needs. You only get one body, and one mind, so take good care of them. It’s not just physical and mental needs you have, but you also have spiritual needs. Whatever way you see your creator, and whatever you call Him: God, The Big Guy, the Universe, The Good Source, Energy, whatever you deem appropriate to call Him, grow that relationship. You can do it by studying. You can talk to Him, about anything, anytime, anywhere.
That’s all for now,
Rhaya
PS – Never, ever, ever hurt yourself because you aren’t where you feel good about yourself or your life. You mean more to others than you’ll ever realize.
Love Yourself – you’re worth it!
