What’s running through the teen world right now? It’s a theory called “The Mandela Effect” based on a parallel universe stating that some of us have passed through, and others having always been in this one. My friends and I saw it on YouTube on one of Shawn Dawson’s videos. This theory is backed up by the vast number of people that have memories of certain things being a certain way, even though now they show to have always been different. It’s like we constantly switch between these parallel universes.

A blogger, Reece, who happens to be a physicist, shared the example of a well-known series of books “The Berenstein Bears” which are now “The Berenstain Bears.” You can go back to the older books and it’s spelled with the ain instead of the ein, so it’s like reality really has shifted. Can you say …

Ask your parents or grandparents which way they remember it, Berenstein or Berenstain. Mine said ein and were surprised to see how the spelling had changed. See more Berenstain  Bears on Amazon.

This is the reason it’s called the Mandela Effect – Some remember Nelson Mandela dying in prison in the 1980s, but history now shows he died in 2013. Pretty weird, huh?                                                                                                                                                            Here are some fun examples of changes in the history of things:                                                                                                                Looney Toons is now Looney Tunes                                                                                                                                                                            In Snow White it was “Mirror, mirror on the wall” and now it’s “Magic Mirror on  the wall.”

Mr. Rogers song was “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood” and now “It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood.”                                                                                                                                                                                                             Chic-fil-A is now Chick-fil-A                                                                                                                                                                                Captain Crunch is now Cap’n Crunch. My mom even remembers the “Cap’n” looking a bit different.

Cap'n Crunch

Some creepy stuff, right? If you want to hear some fun things about it tune into Shawn Dawson’s video, or you can read more about it at Mendela-Effect.net. Soon I’ll have some more weird and interesting info to share with you here at Teens2Talk.

Until next time,                                                                                                                                                                                                        Natalia
