We have recently had lots of movies about comic book heroes and heroines. So, what’s so special about the Suicide Squad based on DC Comics?
One big difference in this movie compared to the others is the “good guys” have minimal air time and the “bad guys” are in the spotlight. The second would be that our heroes in this movie are actually the “bad guys” in all the others.
The first time I saw it, I gave it an 8 because, I didn’t follow it as well as I could have if I’d been familiar with the comics. I guess I kept waiting for the movie to turn into what my non-comic book reading teen mind thought it was going to be, but it never did. However, the second time, I gave it a 10! Why? First of all, I knew the gist of what was going on so I was able to relax and pay more attention to detail. And yes, I ranked it a 10 because it’s got everything you want in a movie: lots of action, a little romance and drama, and unforgettable characters. Good plot? Yes, there’s one of those too.
I know the critics said it was a bomb, but I don’t think they ever keep teens in mind. They usually don’t like the movies we like, so I don’t pay attention to them. Every friend I’ve talked to has really liked it, so I don’t know why any teen wouldn’t.
Go and see the Suicide Squad – you’ll be glad you did!
